Fix My JSON →Introducing JSON Studio: One Workspace for All Your JSON
Every developer knows the drill. You get an API response with broken JSON. You open a formatter tab to make it readable. Paste it in. Now you need to validate it against a schema — open another tab. Then you want to query a specific field with JSONPath — another tab. Extract a TypeScript interface from it — yet another tab.
By the time you're done, you have six browser tabs open, you've pasted the same JSON five times, and you're not sure which tab has the version you actually edited.
JSON Studio solves this. It's one workspace, all your JSON tools, no tab switching. What's in JSON Studio
JSON Studio is a unified JSON workspace built for developers working with modern APIs and LLM outputs. Everything runs in your browser — your data never leaves your machine.Repair
The core AI JSON Medic capability: 16-stage Claude-powered repair for LLM-generated JSON, API responses, truncated payloads, and malformed data. Single quotes, trailing commas, missing brackets, Python booleans, escaped strings — all handled automatically.
Format & Beautify
Instant pretty-printing with configurable indentation. Sort keys alphabetically. Collapse/expand nested objects. See your JSON structure clearly before working with it.
Minify
Compact JSON for production payloads, storage optimization, or API request bodies. One click removes all whitespace.
Validate
JSON Schema validation — paste your schema and your data, get instant validation results with field-level error messages. Supports JSON Schema Draft 7 and Draft 2020-12.
Tree View
Navigate large JSON structures with a collapsible tree explorer. Expand only the branches you need. Copy individual values or subtrees.
JSONPath Tester
Write JSONPath expressions and see results instantly. Supports RFC 9535 syntax with bracket notation, recursive descent (..), and filter expressions.
TypeScript Interface Generator
Paste JSON, get a TypeScript interface. Handles nested objects, arrays, optional fields, and union types. Useful for bootstrapping types from API documentation samples.
JSON Diff
Compare two JSON objects side by side. Highlights added, removed, and changed fields. Useful for comparing API responses across versions or environments.
JWT Decoder
Decode JWT tokens instantly — header, payload, and signature parsed and displayed. No verification (never send production secrets to a third-party site).
JSON → SQL
Generate SQL INSERT statements from JSON arrays. Pick your table name, the tool generates the full insert script.
Sort Keys
Normalize JSON key order for deterministic storage, version control diffs, and cache key generation.
Why Unified Tools Matter
The problem with separate browser tabs isn't just inconvenience. It's correctness.
When you paste JSON into tab one, edit it in tab two, and then paste a different version into tab three, you lose track of which version is canonical. You end up validating the wrong data against your schema. You generate TypeScript types from a sample that doesn't match what your API actually returns.
JSON Studio maintains a single JSON document across all tool operations. You repair it once, and that repaired JSON is the input for every other tool. You're always working on the same data.
Privacy: Client-Side First
All formatting, minification, validation, JSON diff, TypeScript generation, JWT decoding, and JSONPath evaluation run entirely in your browser. No network requests. No server sees your data.
The repair function uses AI — it sends your broken JSON to the Claude API to analyze and fix it. If your JSON contains sensitive data, use the manual repair options (which run client-side) or redact sensitive values before pasting.
For completely sensitive JSON (API credentials, production database payloads), use a local jq command or Python json.loads to validate structure — then use JSON Studio only for non-sensitive samples.
Who JSON Studio Is For
API developers debugging API responses in staging and production. Get the raw response, repair any issues, validate against your schema, and inspect specific fields — all without leaving JSON Studio. AI/LLM engineers working with structured output from Claude, GPT-4o, Gemini, and local models. LLM JSON is frequently malformed — truncated, single-quoted, with Python booleans. Repair first, then validate and inspect. Backend developers writing TypeScript or JavaScript. Get TypeScript interface stubs from your JSON samples in seconds instead of hand-writing them. DevOps and SRE troubleshooting JSON in logs, configurations, and API payloads. JSON Studio's tree view makes large nested structures navigable. Data engineers working with JSON from data pipelines, Kafka, or event streaming. Validate structure, compare schemas, and extract fields without leaving the browser.JSON Studio vs Switching Tabs
Here's a common workflow — comparing JSON Studio against the tab-switching approach:
Task: Receive a broken LLM API response, validate it against a schema, and extract 3 fields with JSONPath.| Without JSON Studio | With JSON Studio |
|---|---|
| Open jsonrepair tab, paste JSON | Open JSON Studio once |
| Copy repaired JSON | Repair in JSON Studio |
| Open JSON Schema validator tab | Switch to Validate tab |
| Paste JSON again, paste schema | Schema already loaded from repair step |
| Copy valid JSON | |
| Open JSONPath tester tab | Switch to JSONPath tab |
| Paste JSON third time | Same JSON, write expression |
| Write expression | Done |
| Result: 4 tabs, JSON pasted 3× | Result: 1 tab, JSON pasted once |
The time saving compounds across a workday. For developers handling many JSON structures, the difference is significant.
Using JSON Studio With AI Agents
Modern AI agent frameworks — LangGraph, CrewAI, PydanticAI — generate JSON at every step: tool call arguments, structured observations, memory entries, output schemas. Debugging these pipelines means reading a lot of JSON.
JSON Studio is useful at several points in the agent debugging workflow:
- Repair tool call output — LLMs sometimes return malformed tool arguments. Paste the raw output, repair it, inspect the structure.
- Validate against your schema — Does the agent's output actually match the schema you defined? Paste both and find out.
- Extract specific fields — Use JSONPath to quickly pull the value of a deeply nested field from a large agent observation.
- Compare runs — Use JSON Diff to see what changed between two agent runs on the same input.
For teams building production agents, JSON Studio reduces the "why is my agent producing wrong output" debugging cycle from minutes to seconds.
The Tools, Ranked by Usage
Based on usage patterns among AI JSON Medic users, here's how the JSON Studio tools rank:
- Repair — Highest usage. LLM output is frequently broken.
- Format — Universal. Unreadable one-liner JSON needs formatting before anything else.
- Validate — Critical for production. Schema validation catches errors before they reach users.
- JSONPath — Common for API exploration and extraction.
- TypeScript Generator — Used heavily by TypeScript teams.
- JSON Diff — Targeted use case but high value when needed.
- JWT Decoder — Specific to auth debugging, but frequently needed.
- Minify — Utility for production and storage.
- JSON → SQL — Data engineering workflows.
- Sort Keys — Normalization for versioning and caching.
Getting Started
Go to aijsonmedic.com/tools. No signup. No account. No installation.
Paste your JSON in the input panel on the left. Select your tool from the tabs. See the output on the right.
If your JSON is broken (which it often is from LLM outputs), click Repair first. The repair tool runs the 16-stage Claude pipeline and returns valid JSON, which becomes the input for all other tools.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is JSON Studio completely free?Yes. All tools in JSON Studio are free. The repair function uses AI (Claude API) which has usage costs on our end — but the tool is free for users.
Does JSON Studio store my JSON data?Non-repair tools run entirely in your browser. The repair tool sends JSON to our API (which calls Claude), but we do not store your JSON after the repair is complete.
Can I use JSON Studio for large JSON files?Yes — JSON Studio handles large files up to several MB. For very large files (50MB+), browser memory limits may apply. For files that size, command-line jq or Python json.load() is more appropriate.
JSON Studio's validator supports JSON Schema Draft 7 and Draft 2020-12. These cover all common schema features used in production APIs and OpenAPI specifications.
Can I share a JSON Studio session? Not yet — session sharing is on the roadmap. Currently, each JSON Studio session is local to your browser tab.
What's the difference between JSON Studio and the main repair tool? The main repair tool at aijsonmedic.com/json-repair is focused specifically on repair with an explanation of what was fixed. JSON Studio at aijsonmedic.com/tools is the full multi-tool workspace. Both use the same repair engine.
Does the TypeScript generator support Zod schemas?Currently it generates TypeScript interfaces. Zod schema generation is on the roadmap — if this is important to you, the generated interface can be used as a starting point for a manual Zod schema.
